A house,
and someone
at the other end.
Behind Le Logis there's a short story, and a door that opens easily. Here's how it came to be, and what happens when you write.
My name is Ludovic. I've lived in the Languedoc for a long time, and I took on the house at Le Barry a few years ago to make it become what it is: a place that welcomes well, without overdoing it.
The house was made of stone, and it has stayed that way. I restored it room by room, with the idea that a short stay should feel as lived-in as a long one. That everything should work the first time, without you needing to ask anything. That light, materials and silence matter as much as the appliances.
Day to day, I work as a craftsman — I work with materials, I design, I install — and that way of looking at things has rubbed off on the studio. You may find that certain details have been considered a bit longer than elsewhere. Probably true. But the idea was never to build a museum; just a comfortable place, where you don't need to hunt for the light switch at night.
"I wanted a place where you could simply be there — without having to learn how the house works."
Le Logis is rented from a few nights to several weeks. It welcomes two guests and is just as well suited to couples on a getaway as to walkers on the Way of Saint James, wine lovers wanting to visit Montpeyroux cellars, or those simply looking for a quiet weekend thirty minutes from Montpellier.
Check-in is self-service: you collect the keys from a key safe on arrival and leave them there when you depart. No fuss, just enough for you to arrive at 10 pm without disturbing anyone. But if you need anything during your stay — a recommendation for an estate, a question about the house, the contact of a bike rental — you write or call. I reply.
The rest is up to you. The region is beautiful, the studio is ready. See you soon, perhaps.
What's worth knowing.
A complete restoration
The studio has been entirely reimagined: insulation, electrics, finishes, bespoke furniture. Everything is new inside a house that has kept its original exterior.
A discreet welcome
Key safe, a clear welcome booklet, direct contact by message or phone. No procedure. You arrive, you settle in, you write to me if needed.
Close at hand
I live nearby, so I'm often available. For recommendations, questions, or unexpected issues, I'm easy to reach and I know the area pretty well.
"Restoring a house
is like writing a letter:
weighing each word,
and stepping aside."
